It’s always hard to say goodbye to a friend, especially one who has meant so much. Herman Chapple has been with the Downtown Development Authority for 27 years, for most of that time as the head of our hard-working Streetscape division.
Herman loved downtown and took his role in keeping it nice seriously, but he could also laugh with the best of them and as he would ‘walk off’ a frustration, he would do so with a smile on his face. Herman left us after a short illness. It will be a long time before we stop expecting to see him walk through the door and we will remember him always.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time.
